Experience Boracay through the lens of ZenFone

-

Boracay’s 6-month closure to tourists for its rehabilitation might have been a devisive topic when it was announced earlier this year. Fast forward to November 2018 and the white sands of Boracay are now open to the public to see what the rehabilitation has done to the natural beauty of one of the most famous tourist spots in the Philippines.

The PixelMasters

PixelMaster Jay Ermitaño.

Thanks to ASUS and the ZenFone 5, we were able to capture Boracay after its extended rest. Together with our trip were ASUS’ own PixelMaster composed of Nicco Valenzuela, Arlene Donaire, Jay Ermitano, Jasper Tejano, Ken Go, Dail Deri, and Ricky Ladia. These PixelMasters, thanks to their Master Class sessions, have taught the most avid ZenFone fans in the country to take advantage of the full potential of their ZenFone smartphones when taking photos.

Before we went out to the beaches of Boracy, we had one last Master Class this year together with ASUS’ PixelMasters to further hone our photography skills. Fields such as portraiture, street photography, and conceptual photography were taught in order for us, the media, and select ZenFone fans to take advantage of the hardware that was inside the ASUS ZenFone 5.

Out to the sands of Boracay

After the PixelMasters’ Master Class, the time was just ripe to take sunset photos on our first day in Boracay. Relaxing waves and fine sand greeted us once we arrived in the beach.

We roamed around Station 1 of Boracay to see what kind of photos and interesting subjects we can capture with our ZenFone 5.

The next day, we planted a few Mangrove trees to help the coastline of Boracay. Mangrove trees protect the coastline of Boracay, help the soil hold together to prevent erosion as well as prevent storms from inflicting major damage in areas near the coast. The trees also provide sustenance to different kinds of animals such as birds, turtles, and fish.

After our visit in the Mangrove plantation, we went to several other beaches in Boracy to take in the sights and sounds of one of the most famous tourist destination in the country. Here are the photos we were able to capture:

The whole country has been excitedly awaiting the re-opening of Boracay Island since the announcement of its rehabilitation. We are proud and in awe to be among the first to experience the reinvigorated paradise and capture that through the lens of the ZenFone 5 series. We at ASUS ZenFone are one with the local government in pushing for sustainable tourism in the island, and will continue to explore ways on how we can help maintain the pristine state of the island whenever we visit,” said ASUS Philippines Systems Group Country Manager George Su.

The ASUS ZenFone 5 7 months after the release

Revisiting a smartphone months after its release is an infrequent top matter in most tech websites since smartphones releases tend to overshadow previous releases, let alone 7 months after the release of the ASUS ZenFone 5.

From what we have experienced in our time in Boracay with the ZenFone 5, it seems that ASUS has been working hard to further improve the smartphone from the time it was released. Cameras on the ASUS ZenFone 5 have improved and the HDR implementation has been enhanced to fit in more details and colors into a single photo.

Of course, your experience may vary. But if you have bought the ASUS ZenFone 5 back in April, we’d like to know what have been your experience for the past few months with the smartphone in the comments section. We’d like to know.
