ASUS has been quickly building their range of routers for the past few years. Releases such as the RT-AC88U and the RT-AC5300 puts the brand on the map as not just another PC components manufacturer, but a brand that understands everything needed to get the best gaming experience. To bolster their current range of routers, ASUS has released the RT-AX88U, their first router to have the 802.11ax WiFi standard.
The new 802.11ax WiFi standard on the ASUS RT-AX88U allows the router to reach blistering speeds of up to 6000mbps even in the busiest networks. Speed, however, is only one thing; coverage is also an important aspect in networking. To help with a wider network coverage, the router comes with 4 antennas as well as 8 Ethernet ports to serve more users at a time. The WiFi signal can also boosted by connecting the RT-AX88U to ASUS’ AI mesh.
To protect all its users from any harm that might come from the Internet, the ASUS RT-AX88U has partnered with TrendMicro for its AiProtection Pro, which will help the router block Internet security threats for all devices connected to the router.
No price has been set for the ASUS RT-AX88U. We expect it, however, to arrive in the local market sometime in Q4 of 2018 or early 2019.
