Facebook is now suspending pre-installs of all its apps on Huawei smartphones. This is the latest blow to the Chinese company as USA escalates its trade ban against the brand.
According to the Reuters report, Huawei users who already have existing Huawei smartphones will still be able to use Facebook’s apps as well as receive updates. Future Huawei smartphones, however, won’t have Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram pre-installed.
Those who will get a Huawei smartphone in the future will have to download Facebook apps via the Google Play store. At this time, however, Huawei only has until August 19, 2019 until it is banned from accessing Google services.
Huawei has declined to comment about Facebook’s suspension of pre-installing their apps.
