Instagram has just announced that it is now possible to share photos in portrait and landscape orientation. The Facebook-owned social network sharing / photo sharing app will be rolling the update to users starting today.
This update is based on data compiled by the Instagram team which states that nearly one in every five photos posted to the site are not in the standard Instagram square format. This is the main reason why the company will be adding changes which will allow even watching and uploading videos easier as well with the addition of posting widescreen videos; apart from posting portrait and landscape photos.
Instagram will also be beginning to support 1080 x 1080 (from 640 x 640) resolution photos. This update have begun rolling out since last month.
