Now out of its beta stage, Firefox is promising that their new browser known as Quantum will deliver two times faster performance compared to its predecessor while only using 30% less RAM than Google Chrome.
To achieve its performance, Quantum now prioritizes tabs you’re using over background apps to more efficiently use resources. Firefox is also using an improved UI dubbed Photon, which allows the browser to scale to current and future hardware and software improvements.
Much like Chrome, Firefox Quantum uses a multi-process architecture to allow it to perform better while consuming less RAM. Of course, all your favorite features from the original Firefox browser carries over to Quantum such as extensions and themes.
Firefox Quantum is now available for iOS or Android devices as well as for desktop.
