Clear your mind of all other Halo-halo out there because there’s a new Halo-Halo in town and it’s Kuya J Halo-Halo Espesyal. Since our first visit in Kuya J’s restaurant (which you can read all about here), I always walk past by the restaurant and it has always been a full-house.
But luckily, I was invited to Kuya J’s media event where in they introduced their new Halo-Halo Espesyal. Just in the nick of time — before we have the last days of summer, Kuya J restaurant has bough one of the most espesyal(special) ways to breeze through the the remaining days of the piping hot season with the Halo-Halo Espesyal.

At first glance, you would think that this is just your normal Halo-Halo treat but don’t let your eyes fool you. What makes it special is its paper-thin shaved ice that’s more smooth and suave than any other Halo-Halo out there. What’s even more surprising is on your first bite, you’ll be greeted with a surprisingly rich and creamy taste of milk that will melt in your mouth instantly — yes, that shaved ice is actually made of milk! Of course, what we love in our Halo-Halo is that mix of tasty ingredients found at the bottom of the glass. Very mouth-watering, you’ll find a perfect combination of sweet and meaty macapuno strings, red and green nata de coco, caramelized saba, velvety ube jam, and glazed lanka. And for the perfect ending, it has a thick chunk of homemade leche flan, sprinkled with crunchy corn flakes, drizzled with ube cream on top.
So if you want to end your summer season perfectly, I suggest you go grab a glass of Kuya J Halo-Halo Espesyal you’ll be surprised on how it taste — a new experience but still reminds you of that traditional treat.
