Casio G-Shock is no stranger to any wristwatch enthusiast here in the Philippines. To commemorate their new store as well as honor their Filipino Fans, G-Shock has released a brand new watch just for Filipinos; The National G-Shock.
The National G-Shock’s design was taken from the winner of the Design the National G-Shock contest earlier this year, Dylan Dylanco. From hundreds of designs, Dylanco’s ode to the weaving techniques of the ancestors of the Filipinos was chosen due to its traditional design and epitome of the toughness of our countrymen.
“The most prolific warriors in history have always been celebrated in symbolisms, song, and vestment. And in traditional tapestry weaves, every weave tells a story,” said International Sales for Timepiece Overseas Marketing and Sales Division Casio Computer Co. LTD sales manager Mr. Masaki Obu. “I believe we have successfully captured the Filipino soul in Design the National G-Shock contest.”
The National G-Shock with Dylanco’s design was formally introduced into the market with the launch of the brand’s newest store in Ayala Vertis North. The watch will have a limited run at only 200 pieces available to the public at G-Shock stores for PhP 9,995 each.
