GCash has unveiled 10 features that will make using the super-app better than before. They are now expanding their borders to include local stocks trading, more international payment methods, additional security layers, and easier borrowing options.
AB Capital Securities Inc.’s online retail securities trading services are now accessible through the GCash app. This allows you to trade local stocks of over 280 companies. It is built-in to the app to make it user-friendly while its simplified trading interface makes it easier to buy and sell stocks. GStocks PH will be available to more users soon.
Trading crypto and NFTs have arrived to the GCash app. You get access to curated NFT collections like The House of OhLala made by Filipino contemporary artist, Reen Barrera, on the GCrypto NFT Hub. The service is powered by PDAX, a homegrown cryptocurrency exchange in the Philippines.
GCash will now offer insurance to you with 60 days of coverage up to PhP 20,000 for all your online purchases. It will cover scenarios when orders are not delivered, accidentally damaged, not as described, or stolen. Powered by Chubb, it is embedded to your online GCash payments across 1,500 online shops and platforms.
Cross-border QR payments with Alipay+ merchants are possible with GCash. It is available in Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Qatar, Germany, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom. This eliminates the hassle of paying with cash or withdrawing money at ATMs with high service fees. It offers real-time Forex charging with no service fees.
GCash Card will give you the advantage of real-time Forex charging with no service fees. You can access your funds at over 100 million shops across 200 countries and territories thanks to the VISA network. This allows a hassle-free shopping and dining experience wherever you may be. The new GCash card will be available later this year.
Overseas Filipinos in Japan, Australia, Italy, United Kingdom, Canada, and USA can now use GCash with international SIM card. They can send money, buy load, and pay bills for their loved ones in the Philippines. The feature also allows sending money for free with GCash-to-GCash transactions. It is currently on beta and is limited to a number of users, but will rollout to more users soon.
Tired of screenshotting your screen and sending the receipt through chat? GChat is integrated to the GCash app to enable you to use a user-friendly messenger that makes chatting and trasacting to anyone of your contacts easier. All transaction information between users will be on the app itself. It will arrive to everyone within the next few months.
GCash is increasing its security with DoubleSafe. It adds another layer of security on-top of the 2-Factor Authorization and your mobile pin. It will be activated for every first login to a new smartphone and will use facial recognition to secure an account should you accidentally share your MPIN and OTP to fraudsters.
GGives gives you the ability to buy now, pay later with zero credit cards, no additional documents, and zero downpayments as well as zero interest at select merchants. You are free from the usual obstructions associated with installment plans.
Eligible users can now borrow load promos at zero cash out giving them access to the Internet and their preferred entertainment even if they are short on budget. Load promos valid for up to 7 days are available giving entry to data-heavy apps. This feature will be rolling out to more users soon.
