Genshin Impact Version 5.5 titled Day of the Flame’s Return will be arriving on March 26, 2025. Players will be able to venture into the southwester reaches of Natlan where they will meet a new Tribe, the Collective of Plenty, and explore the Great Volcano of Tollan. Varesa is also being introduced as a new ally while the long-awaited Iansan will become playable alongside a new Saurian companion, the Tatankasaurus.
The Great Volcano of Tollan will be accessible to all players who want to explore its riches. It houses the Sacred City of Tollan through a special method, and players can set out to unravel the mystery of the “Flamelord’s Blessing” and the mystery of their Little One.
On the path to the sacred mountain, players will encounter the Collective of Plenty – a tribe devoted to fitness and love to test their strength in friendly competitions.
The tribe’s harvest is blessed with sweet and juicy fruits thanks to the fertile volcanic soil. The volcano, though usually silent, can occasionally spring into life and spew out showers of falling rocks. If this comes to pass, players can transform into the Tatankasaurus, a new Saurian from they Collective of Plenty, to smash through large chunks of Pulverite and even briefly dash across water or liquid phlogiston.
New Saurians and warriors roam the area. Among them are Veresa and Iansan who can sprint and perform flying leaps while traversing Natlan’s terrain.
Varesa is a 5-star Electro Catalyst user who uses Plunging Attacks to trigger her Fiery Passion state. While in this state, she deals more Electro damage, and can access a special Elemental Burst with reduced Energy cost. She can quickly enter this state by tapping her Elemental Skill and following up with Normal Attacks to perform plunging attacks. Additionally, her unique talent helps restore Phlogiston after the party consumers food.
Iansan is a 4-star Electro Polearm wielder who provides support to the party by enhancing on-field characters’ ATK while also healing. Her Elemental Burst increases on-field characters’ ATK even when she is off-field, and her ATK buff scales with the distance that her teammates move. Additionally, when triggering a Nightsoul Burst, she obtains the Warming Up effect that allows her to continuously restore HP to on-field characters for a short duration.
In the first phase of Version 5.5’s Event Wishes, Varesa and Iansan will debut alongside Xianyun’s rerun, followed by reruns for Xilonen and Venti.
Natlan’s traditional Bloomflower Trials will be making a return after a long hiatus. Players will team up with Mavuika, Ifa, and other Natlan allies to participate in the event to save a Saurian afflicted by a rare illness. Moreover, in the “Saurian Treasure Seeker” mini-game, players can assist a group of baby Saurians to overcome obstacles and collect treasures. Taking part in the event gives players the opportunity to invite Ororon for free.
Version 5.5 also introduces new challenges and system optimizations. A new boss, the Lava Dragon Statue, awaits in the geothermal features of the volcano. As for optimizations, the Artifact leveling experience is enhanced, as upgrading Artifacts defined with Sanctifying Elixers guarantees at least two upgrades to the defined Minor Affixes.
Genshin Impact Version 5.5 arrives with its volcanic lands on March 26, 2025. It is available across PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Android, and iOS with cross-progression and co-op functionality.
