While the people are still adapting to the new normal, Globe is continuing their work to build its 5G networks for launching in the coming weeks. This is following the transition of key areas from the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) to General Community Quarantine (GCQ).

With the increased Internet bandwidth needed during the quarantine period, Globe is quickly pushing the expansion of its 5G coverage in key areas in the metro. These areas include Makati, Bonifacio Global City Central of Business Districts.

After unveiling their first 5G plans back in February, Globe is expected to make the service available to more Platinum and postpaid customers within the 5G-covered areas in the coming weeks. Globe is also expected to add more affordable 5G-capable smartphones to its roster soon. This will allow more people to discover the speed of 5G.

Globe is doing this in solidarity with Filipinos who are on their way to getting back on their feet. In response to what seems to be increased dependence on digital among our mobile customers, we want to make the 5G experience progressively available to more of our mobile customers at the soonest possible time. As we all look forward to better days, 5G will definitely hasten the digital transformation in the country as businesses, the government, and its people move towards digitalization,” said Albert De Larrazabal, Globe’s Chief Commercial Officer.
