It’s iPhone month again with the new iPhone 8 now available for pre-order via Globe, as usual here is our breakdown of plans to help you decide which plan is the best for you. You can now start to pre-order and get the phone by
According to the published rates, you can get the iPhone 8 64GB as low as Php38,000 or get the iPhone 8 Plus for as low as Php44,400. That’s an average Php6,400 difference if you would refer the Plus variant.
But of course, you need to know what’s included in each plan. So we prepared it for you already. So far if you own an iPhone, you maximize your usage with data and we recommend getting at least 6GB or higher.
For the plan breakdown, it seems to start Plan999 is good while Plan 1299 is balanced at 6GB a month. But we recommend getting either the Plan 1499 or 1799 with 8GB to 11GB data allocation.
Freebies include Spotify Premium for 3 months, Netflix for 6 months and Disney for 6 months. What’s weird is that Globe doesn’t include any GoWatch allocation in all plans, usually, they offer 10GB GoWatch allocation to watch Globe content partners and even Youtube.
Globe recommends the Plan 1799 for the iPhone 8. That will translate to a monthly of Php2,599 for the iPhone 8 64GB or Php2,849 for the iPhone 8 Plus 64GB. That’s around 350 more expensive as compared to the previous iPhone 7 plans.
Remember that all these plans are 24 months lock-in for your plan. The iPhone 8 is still a standard of experience as far as the smartphone world is concerned. If you get the Plan 1799 for the iPhone 8 64GB, that will cost you Php62,376 or 68,376 for the iPhone 8 Plus 64GB.
That’s a Php6,000 difference between the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, so far the pricing style is consistent as compared to the previous iPhone 7. It’s just that the iPhone 8 series is 5k more expensive than the iPhone 7 series.
For us, we think Plan 1499 to 1799 offers the best value and included package. Getting an iPhone plan isn’t a joke, it’s similar to getting a gym subscription and you must be committed that you really need it or else…you won’t be able to maximize your plan.
