Globe tests console-less gaming in the PH with 5G

-

Globe, in partnership with Apper.ph, tested their 5G network with graphics-heavy games without needing a console or a high-end PC. By using cloud technology and 5G’s low-latency and fast speeds, it brings us closer to a future where high-end gaming can be enjoyed without needing a console.

Globe’s 5G network was tested with TEKKEN 7 by BANDAI NAMCO. 5G’s incredibly low latency allowed the testers to play the game seamlessly with close to zero lag, which is a sought after feature by the esports community as well as multiplayer games. The test was held in the Globe Icon Store at Bonifacio Globe City in Taguig as it is one of the areas currently covered by the telco’s 5G.

The continuous roll out of Globe 5G will not only change the way we play our favorite online or console-based games, but this is also a leap to a lot of other possibilities that this technology can bring. With Globe 5G, the future is closer than ever,” said Coco Domingo, Globe’s Vice President for Strategic Platforms and Partnerships.

Current Globe LTE SIM cards will automatically work with 5G so long as Globe Postpaid and Platinum subscribers have a 5G-capable device. Currently, Globe 5G is available in areas such as Bonifacio Global City, Valero Street in Makati, Rockwell Center, and Gen. Malvar in Ortigas.
