Google creates router with TP-LINK, dubbed OnHub

-

Routers and other networking devices have long been boring pieces of the I.T. consumer products world. Networking brands have tried to reinvent and redesign their product to make it more attractive to attract more customer. Finally, Google made it cooler with OnHub.

Google announces their new router called OnHub, a router which is easy to set up, manage and is able to tie multiple smart gadgets at home or small of office with high performance. OnHub is purely a router and should start to go on store shelves on August 31 for 199.99USD or around 8,600Php.

OnHub connects through 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and has Bluetooth Smart Ready, Weave, 802.15.4 to connect with other future gadgets. It also has a dedicated storage of 4GB for software updates. On the speed-side; OnHub delivers up to 1900Mbps by supporting both 2.4GHz and5GHz frequencies if you have them; this is done through 13 antennas. Yes! 13! with six 2.4GHz antennas, six 5GHz antennas and one congestion-sensing antenna aranged in a unique circular pattern. While blinking lights might be expected, Google’s OnHub is through with it. The device uses a dimmable light ring that uses one of four color indicators to give you feedback.

OnHub is built with partnership with TP-LINK but a second iteration of the product is said to be on the way with ASUS.
