GoPro has brough in two of their latest and most powerful cameras into the Philippines – the Hero13 Black and the tiny Hero. Both promise new features with that iconic GoPro experience.
The GoPro Hero13 Black is one of their flagships in the action camera space. It offers up to 5.3K video at 60fps and HyperSmooth stabilization. Its slow motion now supports 13x Burst Slo-Mo with up to 400 frames per second at 720p, 120fps at 5.3K, and 360fps at 900p.
The Hero13 Black supports 10-bit and Rec.2100 color space and a wider color gamut than HDR. As fro audio, you can choose from a more balanced sound or a Voice setting that enhances vocal clarity while still preserving ambient background audio.
To make transferring video much quicker, the Hero13 Black supports WiFi 6 that promises up to 40% faster transfers. GoPro’s camera can also track speed, path, terrain, altitude, g-force, and helps geotagging in 3rd-party media management apps.
Battery life has been redesigned to fit a 1,900mAh battery – 10% more capacity than previous models. GoPro claims that the Hero13 Black can provide 1.5 hours of continuous recording at 4K30fps and 5.3K30fps, plus around 2.5 hours of straight recording at 1080p30fps.
It will come with built-in mounting fingers and ¼-20 mounting threads to enable you to mount the camera in three ways.
The GoPro Hero13 Black is priced at PhP 25,990 for the standalone camera while the Hero13 Black Creator Edition which will come with a Volta Power Grip, Media Mod, and Light Mod will is set at Php 38,990.
The Hero13 Black will also support new accessories. The Contacto Magnetid Door and Power Cable Kit for PhP 5,290 attaches to its side that acts as a weatherproof way to connect an external power source. A new Magnetic Latch and Ball Join mounts priced at PhP 1,590 and PhP 2,590, respectively, introduce faster ways to mount the Hero 13 Black.
Those looking to get more out of the Hero13 can take advantage of the HB-Series Lenses. They can be attached on the camera and come with water and scratchproofing and hydrophobic coatings. Currently, GoPro is offering four lenses in the range:

The GoPro Hero is one of the smallest cameras from the brand yet that can capture 4K recording. Weighing in at only 86g, its waterproof up to 5 meters and comes with a touch screen with a one-button control.
Aside from 4K video, it supports 2x Slo-Mo, 12MP photos, and 2.7K at 60fps. You can also take 8K snaps from your 4K video using the Quik app. GoPro says that the Hero can last up to 100 minutes capturing video at its highest setting on a single charge.
The GoPro Hero is priced at PhP 13,990 and will hit the Philippine market on September 23, 2024.
Both the GoPro Hero13 Black and Hero supports the Quik app for additional features. Features include highlight videos to be automatically sent to your smartphone, edit shots, easy transferring, and unlimited cloud backup.
You can unlock these features through a paywall. The Premium plan is priced at PhP 2,490 per year while the Premium+ plan is set at PhP 5,990. Subscriptions can be managed through their website or through the Quik app itself.
