Note that this guide may not work for you as it may not fit your style of play. For the full lsit of talents, check out the Hogwarts Legacy Talent List.
Talent points are limited in Hogwarts Legacy. With that said, proper allotment of these points should be something you should heavily ponder on. To make things a tad easier, we have listed the best talents in the game below:
Talent | Description | Required Level |
Confringo Mastery | Confringo impacts produce fiery bolts that seek enemy targets. | 5 |
Transformation Mastery | Enemies struck with the Transformation spell transform into explosive objects. | 22 |
Spell Talents add more to the usual effects of your spells. Generally, they add more AoE and affect more enemies instead of the standard single target. Confringo Mastery helps in burning lots of enemies with a single cast, perfect for battles against Inferi. Transformation Mastery allows you to one-hit a target as it transforms them into a more fragile object.
Talent | Description | Required Level |
Basic Cast Master | Basic Cast impacts reduce spell cooldowns. | 5 |
Ancient Magic Throw Expertise | Ancient Magic Throw catches and throws disarmed enemy weapons. | 5 |
Swift | Holding down Dodge allows you to vanish quickly and reappear nearby. | 5 |
Spell Knowledge I | A new Spell Set is added. | 5 |
Spell Knowledge II | A new Spell Set is added. | 5 |
Spell Knowledge III | Increases the range of Revelio. | 16 |
Revelio Mastery | A new Spell Set is added. | 16 |
The talents above are must-haves as they grant you significant advantage when properly used. Aside from that, some of these skills provide quality of life improvements to the game itself.

The curses that should not be used in the wizarding world are apparently the strongest in the game. With that said, you should take the talents that accompany these spells. Once you unlock the spells above, maximize them by allotting points to their respective talents.

As we have winners, we should also have losers. Below are talents that you should avoid when you can.
If stealth is not something you prefer doing in Hogwarts Legacy, it’s okay to not touch the Stealth Talent tree and leave it as is. You can even completely finish the game or do stealth without allotting a point or two here. Use these talents only if you like sneaking.
While the Room of Requirement talents grant you additional yield for your plants and potions, they technically do not give anything significant in the field. You may use them if you prefer using items during battles but more often than not, it’s best to just get something passive that affects you as you explore the game world.
Hogwarts Legacy is available on PC, PS5 & PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. Get to know more about the game via the official website.
