During your first foray into Hogsmeade, you get tasked to meet Ollivander, a famous wand maker. Ollivander offers you a variety of customization options for your wand, giving you several choices before asking you if your decision is final. During this time, choose options that you like. These choices have no bearing in terms of how your wand performs and they are all for cosmetic only. Choose which ones you like as they will be what you will use for the rest of the game.

No Way To Change Wands
Also note that after you choose your first wand, there is no other way to change it. The only thing that you can change is the wand handle. Wand Handles can be found as random customization rewards after you complete quests or open large chests around the game world.
