The brooms you get presented with during your initial visit are purely cosmetic. Although they have flowery descriptions, they have no gameplay impact. They do not add speed, maneuverability, or anything. With that said, choose which one you fancy as your first broom. You can buy the other designs and change to different ones later during your adventures.
Speed Burst, as the name implies, grants you with an instantaneous increase of speed for a brief moment. It requires “stamina” which is the yellow bar displayed on the lower right side of the screen. Using Speed Burst drains the yellow bar but you can prevent or slow down the consumption by flying low or by getting more upgrades.
The Broom can be upgraded to become faster and have more fuel for boosts. Quests tied to its upgrade are unlocked after you advance the story to a certain degree. If you want to know how get these upgrades, check out the Broom Upgrade Guide.
