Hogwarts Legacy Thestral – How To Use

Get The Dark Arts Pack For The Thestral Mount

Hogwarts Legacy Thestral Mount Sepulchria

The Thestral can be unlocked as a flying mount that you can use for traveling around the map. However, unlike the Hippogriff, Highwind, you must pay a bit more to unlock it. Get the Dark Arts DLC via the Deluxe Edition to get the Thestral mount, Sepulchria, as part of your stable.

Mount That Can Walk & Fly

You can use the Thestral included in the Dark Arts DLC after you escape with Highwing in the main mission, “The High Keep”. The Thestral uses the same control scheme as the Hippogriff and is neither faster nor slower. The only difference between the two flying mounts is the appearance. Aside from the Thestral, you can also another legendary beast, the Graphorn.

Broom Is Still Better

Although you do look majestic on a Thestral, the maneuverability and the speed of an upgraded Broom is better. There’s apparently no in-game advantage in using a Thestral. As it stands, it’s way easier to go around with a Broom than with a Thestral.

Can Be Bred For Hair

The Thestral can be captured and bred for Thestral Hairs. You can use the material to upgrade equipment using the Enchanted Loom.
