The HONOR 200 now has a concrete launch date on June 12, 2024. This announcement was made at VivaTech where they also showcased their approach on on-device like the 200’s upcoming AI-enhanced portrait experience.
HONOR says that the 200 series will leverage AI technology to recreate the lighting and shadow effects of French photography studio Studio Harcourt. Using AI to learn from a large data set, it will try to replicate the studio’s method to ensure studio-quality portraits.
The series will be powered by MagicOS 8.0 that’s also coming to the HONOR Magic V2 and HONOR 90 to implement additional AI capabilities. There’s also their “Four-Layer AI architecture” that aims to implement AI across their ecosystem like cross-device and cross-OS AI, platform-level, app-level AI, and cloud-level AI.
The series will be launching a few weeks early in China on May 27, 2024. According to leaks, it seems that the Pro model will come with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip while the base model will have the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 enhanced version. The series may also come with a 50MP main camera, a telephoto camera with 50x digital zoom, a 5,200mAh battery, and 100W Fast Charging.
