Following the heels of other budget-friendly smartphones released this quarter is the Honor 8C. With a brand new cat’s eye design and the first smartphone from Honor to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632, the Honor 8C is sure to catch the attention of enthusiasts.
The Honor 8C is equipped with a 6.26-inch IPS notched display with a resolution of 1520 x 720. Hidden on its notch is an 8MP f/2.0 front-facing shooter.
Honor has redesigned the rear design of the Honor 8C with what the call a “Cat’s Eye” design. This allows the smartphone to have a gem-like glow whenever light hits its back.
Breaking up its rear design is a 13MP f/f1.8 main shooter and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensing camera for better bokeh in photos. Honor has thrown in AI capabilities with the Honor 8C to allow it to recognize more than 500 scenes in 22 distinctly different categories.
The handset’s processing power is provided by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632. Honor is promising up to 40% more performance over the previous Snapdragon 636 chip. Alongside the Snapdragon 632 chip is the Honor 8C’s DND (Do Not Disturb) mode that allows the smartphone to hold all notifications, calls, and alerts.
The Honor 8C also comes with a relatively large 4,000mAh battery. The brand has rated its battery to last 12.5 hours of playback or 11.1 hours of gameplay.

The Honor 8C will be temporarily exclusive online via Shopee starting March 30 until April 6, 2019. The first 200 Shopee users to get the smartphone can get a free Honor Band 4 Running.
For retail customers, the smartphone will be available in all Honor authorized retail stores and kiosks on March 30, 2019.
Additionally, the first 200 orders of Honor products on midnight of March 30 until March 31 midnight that will reach PhP 5,000 will get up to PhP 800 discount on other Honor products.
