HONOR has had a tremendous year as it was estimated to have achieved 200% growth in overseas markets this year. During the forum, HONOR focused on human-centric innovations as part of the discussion titled “A New Intelligent World: What’s Next for Smart Devices” at the Fortune Global Forum 2023 in Abu Dhabi.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), at least 2.2 billion have a vision impairment or blindness globally, of whom at least 1 billion have a vision impairment that could have been prevented or yet to be addressed. This became HONOR’s priority by integrating eye comfort display technology with more than USD 140 million invested on display technology R&D, and developing over 500 display-related patents.
Other consumer pain points also include durability, battery, and portability for foldables. The brand claims that these have been solved with their most recent foldable, the HONOR Magic V2. They say that the smartphone can withstand at least 400,000 folds and includes a silicon-carbon battery for all-day battery life.
HONOR has recently hit a milestone by manufacturing 1 million foldables from its factory. The Magic V2 is currently the number 1 best-selling foldable in the China market, with 25% share of the expanding foldable market according to Omdia.
AI is undoubtedly the keyword in tech this year. HONOR has invested in AI for years, having debuted platform-level AI to enhance the smartphone user experience. During the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit back in October, the brand unveiled that the upcoming HONOR Magic6 will feature on-device LLM powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform. The company believes in a hybrid AI model, utilizing on-device AI for personalized content and services while ensuring user privacy and data staying on the device.
