The HONOR Magic V5 will be making its debut in the Philippines on September 5, 2025. Their latest flagship still sticks to the slim profile of its predecessors, but also focuses on the durability front.
The Magic V5 will come with what HONOR calls a Super Steel Hinge, which is lighter yet more durable than previous entries. This hinge has a tighter folding mechanism to reduce the device’s thickness while maintaining a tensile strength of 2,300MPa.
HONOR is so confident of its new hinge that they hung a 3-seater sofa and a 35kg dumbbell on the Magic V5 without showing any signs of damage.
Aside from a more durable hinge, the Magic V5 is also equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip with 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage, 50MP f/1.8 OIS main camera, a 50MP f/2.0 ultrawide, and a 64MP f/2.5 OIS telephoto shooter.
Additionally, it comes equipped with a 7.95-inch 2352 x 2172 OLED main display and a 6.43-inch 2376 x 1060 OLED cover screen. Both of them come with a 20MP f/2.0 front-facing shooter. The while device runs on a 5,820mAh battery with 66W HONOR SuperCharge and 50W Wireless HONOR SuperCharge.
“Since the rise of foldables in 2019, it has undergone several waves of innovation, evolving from thick, crease-prone designs to sleeker, more practical form factors. With each generation, the focus has shifted toward slimmer profiles, greater portability, and a user experience closer to that of bar phones. HONOR has been at the forefront of this transformation, continuously pushing the boundaries of thinness. The HONOR Magic V5 exemplifies this progress, setting a new industry benchmark as the world’s thinnest foldable and redefining what slim truly means in the foldable category,” said HONOR Philippines Vice President Stephen Cheng.
The HONOR Magic V5 will officially launch in the Philippines on September 5, 2025. Teasers say that it will be exclusively available through Globe GPlans. You’ll be able to watch the livestream on their official Facebook page.
