Honor is jumping onto the gaming smartphone market with the Honor Play. Set to debut in the Philippines on August 11, 2018 in SM Fairview, Honor’s gamer-centric smartphone will also be up for pre-order on its launch.

Packing a Kirin 970 with GPU Turbo as well as 4GB of RAM, the Honor Play aims to satisfy both casual and hardcore mobile gamers out looking for a brand new smartphone.  This new GPU Turbo update that comes in most Kirin 970 SoCs pumps out 60% processing efficiency while reducing the SoC’s power consumption by up to 30%.

The Honor Play comes with a notched 6.3-inch 2340 x 1080 screen that should deliver a superb gaming experience. Despite its focus on gaming, however, Honor has still placed a dual rear camera setup at the back in the form of 16MP + 2MP shooters with LED Flash and AI capabilities. At the front, meanwhile, is a 16MP selfie camera with AI Portrait Mode and 3D Portrait Lighting.

Of course, AI has been implemented with the Honor Play. The smartphone now has AI 4D Smart Shock that recognizes image and audio, which vibrates the smartphone in 30 different scenarios according to the direction of approaching enemies and gunfire.

Audio has also been improved with AI 3D Sound. Inside the Honor Play is the Histen 3D Audio Technology that offers 3D sound field for gamers. It essentially acts as virtual surround sound that offer three modes of experiences: near, front, and wide. This new audio technology in the Honor Play supports both wired earphones and headphones with 3D stereo.
