Honor has officially re-entered the Philippine market and has partnered with Iridium Technologies Inc. for distribution. Their alliance was made official in a contract-signing event where Daniel Wang, Director of Channel Management Department of Honor Device Com., Ltd. and Ricky Sy, President of Honor Philippines/Iridium Technologies Inc. were present.
The brand will be launching their first devices in the Philippines by Q4 of 2022. Its devices will return to both online and retail shelves. They haven’t specified what devices they will be releasing, but it seems they are planning to expand their portfolio to include smart devices, notebooks, wearables, and smart devices on top of their usual smartphone offerings.
Honor was sold back in 2022 by Huawei to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co., Ltd. This allowed the brand to use the Android ecosystem as they were free from US Sanctions from their former parent company.
“As Honor returns to the Philippines, we are confident that the brand will be well received by Filipino consumers. The brand’s re-entrance would also mean that Honor products will soon become more accessible to Filipinos.” said Ricky Sy, President of Honor Philippines. “Philippines is key market in Asia that we are committed to serving. We are posiMve to continue to gain consumer’s trust and popularity by providing the best products,” he added.
Before the brand’s return in the Philippines, they launched the Magic4 series and the Honor 70 series smartphones. Given their current Q4 target, they will most likely launch a new range of smartphones by then.
