How Long To Beat Modern Warfare 2’s Campaign?
Takes Roughly 7 Hours
Having played the game, I’ve beaten it in more or less 7 hours on Regular difficulty. The game can be excruciatingly frustrating at times and I’ve had my fair share of deaths in that 7 hours. I do think that the game can be finished within 6 hours or less if you know what you are doing.
Semi-Open World Missions
There are also missions that open the game world to the player in certain ways. In one mission, the player is tasked to survive while sneaking and hiding in a town filled with enemies. In said mission, you get to choose where to go to and also craft items to help you advance. These missions can be pretty tricky and may be part of what lengthens the campaign’s play time.
Clear Time Varies With Difficulty
As I mentioned above, I was able to clear the game in roughly 7 hours on Regular difficulty. If I went with the easy or Recruit difficulty, it may have chopped off a lot of time. On the other hand, playing it on harder difficulties may extend the campaign’s runtime.
Different Take On Modern Warfare 2
Part of those 7 hours are unskipped cutscenes as all are new ones vastly different from what we had back in COD:MW2 2009. Although characters are the same, the outcome and the story is incredibly different from before. Cutscenes are definitely worth your time in this game.
