The Huawei Mate X6 has officially arrived in the Philippines and aside from having improved hardware compared to their last foldable flagship, it addresses the issues that plague foldables even today – durability.
Huawei tackles the durability concern of foldables with its advanced hinge system, which they say is designed with high-strength materials and an embedded slide rail structure. This design reduces hinge folding thickness by 12% and unfolded thickness by 14% without sacrificing durability.
Its hinge is made from 100% 1900MPa ultra-high-strength steel that’s 27% stronger than its predecessor to withstand frequent use without compromising longevity.
The brand is confident about the build quality of the Mate X6 that they suspended a motorcycle using the device. Its inner screen features a composite laminated structure with a carbon fiber support layer that increases material stiffness by 65% and deformation resistance o 380GPa.
Industry-leading materials also ensure that the screen remains crease-free even after prolonged use.
Its middle frame is made from aviation-grade aluminum, which increases strength by 37% and protects the device from external impact, compression, and bending resistance.
For its exterior screen, the Huawei Mate X6 employs the 2nd Generation Kunlun Glass. With a stronger glass network structure, it promises to significantly reduce the chances of deformation and cracks under external pressure.
The device’s drop resistance has also been further enhanced. They claim that it is now 25 times more durable to increase its chances of surviving accidental falls during everyday use.
The Huawei Mate X6, now available for PHP 114,999 in Nebula Red and Black colorways. The foldable phone is available on Shopee, Lazada, TikTok, Huawei Online Store, and Huawei Experience Stores nationwide.
