Huawei x GCash Watch Pay 2

Huawei, in partnership with GCash, has rolled out Watch Pay QR Payments in the Philippines. This payment feature was first introduced by the Watch GT 5 series, and has been migrated to other Huawei wearables for broader compatibility. Here’s how you can activate it and enjoy a seamless and contactless payment experience.

Aside from the Watch GT 5 series, Watch Pay is also supported by the Huawei Watch Ultimate, Watch GT 4, Watch D2, Watch Fit 3, and Band 10. They are also planning to bring this to other wearables in the future.

You’ll only need to follow these steps to activate Watch Pay QR payments on your compatible Huawei wearable:

  • Log on with your Huawei ID on your Android or Huawei phone. The Huawei ID region must be under the Philippines.
  • Connect Huawei Health to your Huawei Wearable.
  • Log in to your GCash mobile app. Make sure that your account is fully verified.
  • On your Huawei smartwatch menu, go to “Settings” and select the “Payment” option.
  • Find the “GCash” option to install the app on your smartwatch. Open the app once installed.
  • Enter your GCash pin. Scan the QR code displayed via the GCash mobile app.
  • Select “Bind” on the GCash mobile app.
  • Both the GCash mobile app and watch screen should show that the linking is successful.

After successfully linking your accounts onto your Huawei wearable, you can now use it for transactions using the dynamic GCash QR payment code displayed on the screen.

You will be able to enjoy fast and hassle-free transactions even without a phone or wallets from any merchant that accept QR code-based payments such as 7-Eleven, Lawson, Marketplace, Starbucks, and many others.

For your security, the partnership between Huawei and GCash for Watch Pay QR payments is under the regulatory oversight of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

Additionally, Huawei’s range of wearables are available via Shopee, Lazada, TikTok, Huawei online store, and Huawei experience stores nationwide.
