Those who want to switch to Smart from their old carriers can now do so with using the same number with Smart’s simpler Mobile Number Portability (MNP) process, which allows customers to switch without changing their mobile number.
Smart’s MNP process only takes three steps:
- Get your 9-digit Unique Subscriber Code (USB) from your current network provider – This will be valid for 15 days. The USC serves as clearance that you account is free from unpaid fees and balances.
- Get a Smart 5G-ready MNP SIM and apply online – If you are switching to a Smart or TNT account prepaid account, you can get your SIM cards by ordering online or by heading any Smart Store nationwide. If you are porting into a Smart Postpaid account can get your 5G SIMs by booking an appointment at their preferred Smart Store.
- Activate your Smart 5G-ready SIM – Upon getting your Smart 5G-ready MNP SIM and completing the MNP application, activate the SIM card by dialing *123# and following the steps on the screen. You will receive a text notification upon successful activation.
