Huawei is inviting artists worldwide to show their imagination and boldest visions in the GoPaint Woldwide Creating Activity 2025, a global art competition celebrating the future of digital creativity. Submissions are open until December 31, 2025 and lets both creators and hobbyist an international stage to inspire audiences through digital painting and animation, all powered by Huawei’s MatePad tablets.

Powered by Huawei’s exclusive GoPaint app, this year brings a brand-new Animation category to empower artists to bring their illustrations to life with advanced frame-by-frame tools. This lets the competition open up to fresh possibilities for creators to push the boundaries of digital art.

The contest will award 20 honorable mentions, each of which will take home USD 1,000 in prize money and an official certificate. Each entry has the chance to be showcased at Huawei’s press conferences, art exhibitions, global campaigns, or highlighted across social media platforms.

Select pieces can be immortalized as wallpapers in Huawei Themes or merchandise to bring art directly into the hands of millions worldwide. In addition, winners will be given the chance to share the story behind their creations through video interviews and give audiences an intimate look at the inspiration and process behind the work.

HUAWEI GoPaint Category

The GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity 2025 calls on participants from around the world to submit original works across 5 categories: Digital Watercolor & Ink, Animation, Sci-Fi Art, Cutting-Edge Paintings, and Narrative Art. Each category will showcase a form of artistic storytelling, spanning traditional-inspired brushwork, imaginative futuristic scenes, and expressive frame-by-frame expression.

All participants aged 18 and above may submit up to 30 artworks, giving creators the freedom to experiment and share their range of talents. All works must be created using any Huawei tablet. Submissions are to be uploaded through the official contest website in JPG, PNG, or MP4 format with the original EXIF trait data intact. Image works should under 30MB at 300DPI, while animation may be up to 400MB with 1080p resolution. Each entry must include a short description between 30 to 100 words to capture the story behind the artwork. Shortlisted participants may also be asked to submit a timelapse or process recording of their creation.

Entries may be submitted via the HUAWEI GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity 2025 website, the HUAWEI Community, or the My HUAWEI app using a valid HUAWEI ID. Participants are encouraged to review the Terms & Conditions on the HUAWEI Community page to ensure compliance before submitting their work.

Winners will be selected by a distinguished panel of international judges who will review submissions through a multi-stage evaluation process, not only for their technical execution, but also for their ability to inspire, tell stories, and redefine what digital art can be.

Among them is Dezio, a French urban artist and co-founder of Urban Art United (UAU), whose works bridge contemporary street art and community collaboration. Alongside him is Laura Gallon, co-founder of the Arte Laguna Prize and board member of MoCA Italia, who brings her curatorial expertise to the panel. They are joined by acclaimed film director Jia Zhangke, President of the China Film Director’s Guild, whose cinematic eye adds a powerful dimension of storytelling. Completing the panel is Victo Ngai, a world-renowned illustrator recognized by Forbes U.S. and the first ethnic Chinese recipient of the Hamilton King Award from the Society of Illustrators. Together, their diverse artistic expertise and experiences ensure that every entry showcases the highest potential of digital artistry.
