Huawei EMUI 9.1 will start rolling out starting June 27

Huawei has officially announced that EMUI 9.1 will start rolling out to select smartphones starting on June 27, 2019. This new revision of EMUI comes with a ton of new features to enhance the smartphone’s user experience.

Here are just some of the new features and upgrades that EMUI 9.1 will bring to select Huawei smartphones:

  • GPU Turbo 3.0 – Huawei has added 19 new international games to the existing 6 supported games. This will allow these games to experience higher frame rate and lower power consumption.
  • Improved data transfer speed and integrity of Phone Clone
  • Customized Video for incoming caller ringtone
  • Huawei Vlog – New features and effects to edit videos with one simple click. Highlight videos are now automatically edited with dramatic filters.
  • Simplified UI elements

Aside from these changes, Huawei is also promising faster launch times for popular applications. In addition, a new EROFS (Extendable Read-only File System) file system has been implemented to provide 20% faster read speed compared to the previous EXT4 file system.

To get the update, users would need to check the HiCare app to see their device’s eligibility. Initially, Mate 20 series users can start to apply for the upgrade. More models are scheduled to be added from June onwards.
