Huawei introduces Learn On Program at Philippine ICT Talent Online Summit

Huawei Philippines hosted the Philippine ICT Talent Online Summit and introduced their Learn On Program, which aims to support online digital education in the Philippines. The program provides high quality resources on an online open platform to support distance learning requirement during the pandemic and to ensure the development of a comprehensive ICT talent ecosystem and to pave the way to sustainable digital transformation.

The Learn On Program and the Huawei ICT Academy will undertake the following steps to support the local talent development and digital learning in the Philippines:

  • Huawei ICT Academy Development Incentive Fund (ADIF) will be allocated for partner education institutions to run online activities such as courses, training, and research projects.
  • More than 130 MOOC resources will be opened up, covering advanced technical fields such as Artificial Intelligence, big data, 5G, and Internet of Things.
  • More than 100 Train the Trainer programs will be provided for 2020, and more than 1,500 teachers are expected to be trained.
  • Courses such as Huawei Routing and Switching, WLAN, Security, IoT, Cloud Service, Storage, Cloud Computing, Big Data, and AI are going to be tackled.

Currently, the Huawei ICT Program have 21 partner universities and 2,300 students registered on the platform. So far, 360 students have obtained certification as Huawei Certified ICT Associates. This year, Huawei is expected to sign up with more than 30 new ICT Academies and get more than 1,300 newly added certifications in the Philippines.

Those who are interested to learn in the program do not need a college degree. Basic knowledge of PC operations, knowledge of ICT Technologies, and familiarity with network systems, however, are required. Registration to the program is free but those who want to take the certification exam will need to apply online for the free certification voucher.
