Last month, several renders of the upcoming Huawei Mate 20 Pro was leaked on the Internet. The latest leak about the Huawei Mate 20 Pro (perhaps the largest) outs the smartphones specifications as well as its price.
Based on the leak, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro will have a Kirin 980 SoC, as expected, together with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There will also be a more powerful variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB of storage.
The Mate 20 Pro will allegedly have a 6.39-inch notched screen with a 3120 x 1440 resolution. The smartphone will also be the first smartphone to have an in-display fingerprint scanner from Huawei.
Housed on the notch is a single 24MP selfie camera as well as capabilities for Face Unlock. Previous leaks of the Mate 20 Pro also showed a funky triple rear camera setup. The latest leak suggests that the Mate 20 Pro will have a 40MP f/1.8 + 20MP f/2.4 + 8MP wide-angle triple camera setup. When combined, all three rear cameras of the Mate 20 Pro can achieve up to 5x optical zoom as well as macro shots with distances of only 2.5cm.
The Mate 20 Pro will still be using its NPU (introduced on the Kirin 970) for its AI capabilities. The cameras will also be backed by AI for content analysis, scene recognition, low light optimization, and automatic adjustments to photos.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is powered by a 4,200mAh battery and will come with its own 40W charger. The leak suggests that the smartphone is capable of reaching 70% of charge in just 30 minutes. The Mate 20 will also support wireless charging and acts as a charging dock for the upcoming Huawei Freebuds 2.
The leak also states that the Mate 20 Pro will have IP68 water and dust resistance and several standard options for smartphones such as WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and LTE. Huawei may also be introducing its own Nano Memory Card slot for the Mate 20 Pro, which will provide largely the same speed and capacities as microSD cards but in a smaller form factor.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is expected to have a price point of GBP 899 (USD 1,200 or PhP 65,000) and will ship with Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.0. It will be available in Twilight, Black, Blue, or Green color variants.
This will be probably the last major leak for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro as the smartphone, along with the Mate 20 and Mate 20X, will be officially announced on October 16, 2018.
