Huawei is introducing their latest range of flagship devices under the Mate 40 series. Composed of the Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and Mate 40 Pro+, the latest high-end smartphones from Huawei packs the latest chip from the brand, 90Hz OLED displays, and impressive camera hardware.

Huawei Mate 40

The Huawei Mate 40 might be the runt of the series but it’s anything but unimpressive. It has a 6.5-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2376 x 1080 and runs at 90Hz. Breaking up its display is a 13MP f/2.4 selfie camera that rests on a punch-hole at the top-left.

At the back is a circular camera arrangement which houses its three cameras: a 50MP f/1.9 main lens, a 16MP f/2.2 cine camera ultrawide, and an 8MP f/24 telephoto. Its rear cameras now come with AI tracking that follows your subject around to ensure sharp focus while taking photos.

Powering the Huawei Mate 40 is the brand’s Kirin 9000E chip. Aside from the expected performance bump, it supports 5G and packs a 22-core Mali-G78 GPU. The new chip is coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. As for battery, it has a 4,200mAh reserve with support for 40W SuperCharge.
