The Huawei Mate 50 Pro has officially arrived in the Philippines after being teased earlier this month. The smartphone won’t be returning with a Leica imaging system but instead will be using Huawei’s own XMAGE cameras.
The smartphone comes with a 50MP f/1.4 – f/4.0 variable aperture main camera. Instead of relying on software to create fake depth or bokeh, the lens has a physical aperture ring inside that can be adjusted to let in more light or the reverse. This allows for natural-looking bokeh and subject separation on photos with proper fall-off like DSLR or mirrorless cameras.
The device also packs a 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide, a 64MP f/3.4 telephoto, and a 13MP f/2.4 selfie camera. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 platform with a 6.74-inch 2616 x 1212 120Hz OLED screen, and a 4,700mAh battery that supports 66W Fast Charging and 50W Fast Wireless Charging. Its Vegan Leather variant’s display is protected by Kunlun Glass, which is impact resistant.

The Huawei Mate 50 Pro is priced starting at PhP 58,999 in the Philippines. The Vegan Leather option comes with Kunlun Glass and 512GB storage has a significant premium priced at PhP 68,999. Those who will get it early will receive a Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro as a freebie worth PhP 11,999 plus Huawei Cloud Benefits worth PhP 1,891.
