The Huawei Mate 50 Pro will be launching in the Philippines this coming November 18, 2022 nearly 2 months after its debut at IFA 2022. The smartphone will not have the Leica branding on its imaging system. Instead, it will be using the brand’s own XMAGE cameras.
One of the more interesting features of the device is its 50MP f/1.4 – f/4.0 variable aperture main camera. It has a physical aperture ring inside that can be adjusted to let more light in or the reverse. This means that it won’t rely on software to blur the background on subjects for a more DSLR-style look.
The Mate 50 Pro will also come with a 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide and a 64MP f/3.4 telephoto at the back, and a 13MP f/2.4 selfie camera. As for performance, it will come with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chip with EMUI 13. It does not support Google Play officially.
