Last year’s MatePad 11.5-inch is getting a screen upgrade with the Huawei MatePad 11.5-inch PaperMatte Edition. It still comes with the same hardware but updates the screen to a PaperMatte format to make writing, drawing, and note-taking much more natural compared to other screens.

Huawei first introduced the PaperMatte Edition with the MatePad 11-inch late last year. Instead of having a glossy finish, the Huawei has etched an anti-glare finish onto the tablet’s screen. It reduces reflected light to reduce glare and they have minimized the reduction of color accuracy in this kind of finish.

The screen also mimics the feel of paper thanks to a special nano-level embedding process. When paired with an M-Pencil 2^nd Gen, it’s able to offer an improved note-taking, writing, or drawing experience far from glossy finishes of other tablets in the market. They are also bundling WPS Office that allows you to get word processing apps and more.

The Huawei MatePad 11.5-inch PaperMatte Edition has the same hardware as its predecessor. Its screen is set at 2200 x 1440 and is paired with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. Huawei has also packed the device with a 13MP f/1.8 main camera at the back, an 8MP f/2.2 front-facing camera, and a 7,700mAh battery that supports 22.5W Fast Charging.

Huawei MatePad 11.5-inch PaperMatte Edition is priced at PhP 24,999 in the Philippines. Huawei is bundling quite a list of freebies including a detachable Smart Magnetic Keyboard, M-Pencil 2^nd Gen, WPS Office, and one-year premium subscription to VIU for a total of PhP 18,996.
