Huawei will be introducing two new devices on July 24, 2020: the MatePad and the Sound X. The former will be a midrange tablet for both work and entertainment while the latter will be offering new listening technologies for audiophiles.
Essentially a more budget-friendly version of the Huawei MatePad Pro, the MatePad comes with a Kirin 810 with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of expandable storage. It does have a rather large 10.4-inch display with 2000 x 1200 resolution and has an 84% screen-to-body ratio as well as a brightness of 470nits.
For imaging it has an 8MP camera at the back and an 8MP selfie camera. To improve your productivity and enhance the tactility of the experience, the Huawei MatePad will come with an M-Pencil as well as the brand’s own EMUI Desktop.

The latest small Bluetooth speaker from the brand, the Huawei Sound X has been co-engineered with Devialet that allows the device to use the latter’s dual subwoofers to deliver additional oomph to your listening experience .
Despite its size, the Sound X can deliver up to SPL 93dB of sound without losing any clarity from your music. The higher tolerance for louder volumes is made possible by Devialet’s Push-Push acoustic design that cancels out the vibrations from each of the symmetrical dual subwoofers.
Its circular shape and six tweets is also able to produce 360° range of sound so you can hear whatever you are listening to wherever you are in a room. Of course, the device is also compatible with Huawei Share that allows you to seamlessly integrate it to your smartphone.
When will they be released?
Both the Huawei MatePad and Sound X will be officially launched in the Philippines on July 24, 2020 via a live stream on Huawei’s official Facebook page. No word yet about their availability and pricing but we expect that both will be revealed on its launch.
