Launched alongside the Huawei Mate Xs, the Huawei MatePad Pro 5G is essentially the brand’s take on the premium tablet experience. It comes with the same chip as the Mate Xs to ensure powerful performance throughout the day.
The MatePad Pro 5G comes with a 10.8-inch display with a 2560 x 1600 resoluton. Huawei says that the screen is consistent with DCI-P3 wide color gamut. A punch-hole cavity is located at the top left-hand side of the device to house its 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera.
Resting on the backside of the Huawei MatePad Pro 5G is a single 13Mp f/1.9 rear camera with PDAF as well as LED Flash. Aside from relatively taking high-resolution photos, the rear camera is also able to take 4K videos easily.
Inside its chassis is a Kirin 990 5G with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage, however, there’s also another variant that comes with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Storage can be expanded thanks to Huawei’s NM memory card to up to 256GB.
Other variants of the MatePad Pro 5G also comes with Huawei M-Pencil. This will allow you to use the tablet to draw and write with the MatePad Pro 5G seamlessly.
The tablet can also be bought with a plug-in magnetic keyboard. Weighing only at 260g, the keyboard provides a 1.33mm keystroke travel that closely replicates the feel of a laptop keyboard.
Audio has always been an important factor in Huawei’s tablets. The MatePad Pro 5G comes tuned by Harman Kardon Audio to provide richer audio details and a more powerful volume reproduction. In addition, five circumferential microphones allows for 360° noise cancellation.
