Huawei Nova 2i now updated with Face Unlock

The Huawei Nova 2i has garnered a following since its release late last year. With decent specs and performance, it’s not surprising that the Nova 2i has become one of the most sought after mid-range smartphones in the market.

To make the deal even sweeter for those who are thinking of getting a Nova 2i (or for those that have already bought one), Huawei is now rolling out updates for the Nova 2i allowing users to use Face Unlock. You can get the update over-the-air by downloading the latest update package from Huawei.

The Face ID recognition of the Nova 2i comes with three kinds of protection:

• Storage Security – The user’s face information is stored in the Kirin chipset’s TEE (Trusted Execution Environment), which ensures that the user’s information have chip-level security.
• Algorithm Security – An algorithm in the smartphone collects more than 1000 points of recognition in your face in order for the smartphone to recognize your face.
• Huawei is also ensuring your security by preventing the Nova 2i from being unlocked when your eyes are closed. This means that no one can unlock your smartphone when you’re sleeping.

The Huawei Nova 2i is now available nationwide for PhP 14,990 in Huawei Experience Stores and partner retailers. You can also get it via Home Credit for 0% interest for 6 months from February 1 to 28, 2018.
