A new mid-range smartphone from Huawei has been officially announced. Aimed to replace one of the most popular smartphones last year, the Nova 2i, the Huawei Nova 3i comes with a reminiscent design found that of its peers like the P20 series.
In lieu of an 18:9 display, the Huawei Nova 3i now comes with a notched 6.3-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080. Inside is a Huawei Kirin 710 octa-core SoC with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Kirin 710 on the Nova 3i separates itself from the pack with its GPU Turbo technology that allows to ramp up the SoC’s GPU for heavier games found on the platform.
The Huawei Nova 3i carries over the quad-camera setup found on its predecessor with a 16MP + 2MP rear camera and a 24MP + 2MP front-facing cameras. The 2MP secondary cameras act as a depth sensor for the Nova 3i to implement better bokeh effects on photos.
Of course, AI has been added with on the Nova 3i like its contemporaries. The AI implementation on the smartphone allows users to take better photos without much external interference.
Huawei has also implemented the Nova 3i with what they call QMoji, which is essentially the same as the Animojis found on the iPhone X. This allows its users to animate their facial expressions and send them to their friends for a more expressive and fun experience.
