Huawei has showcased its high-end fashion-forward, and technology-driven flagship devices at MWC 2024. Notable displays on their booths are the Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design, FreeClip, and the Watch GT 4.
Huawei Consumer Group claims to have made strides in making breakthroughs in the global high-end wearable, audio, tablet, PC, and phone markets with its high-end and technology-driven products. Flagship smartphones released in 2023 include the Huawei Mate 60 series and Huawei Mate X5, that they say help them climb the smartphone market again. According to Counterpoint, Huawei gained 5% of market share in the global high-end smartphone market in 2023 – ranking 3rd among all brands.
In the first 2 weeks of 2024, Huawei was able to rank 1st in the Chinese market with the largest smartphone sales volume. By the end of 2023, global shipments of their smart wearables exceeded 150 million while its Huawei health app has been downloaded more than 450 million. Meanwhile, their tablets hit 100 million shipped units.
The brand’s “Fashion Forward” exhibition zone showcased their use of premium materials and unique design. While developing the Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design, their R&D department added rare earth elements to the red ceramics’ sintering process for the first time.
The Huawei Watch Ultimate Design is its first-ever gold smartwatch. It comes with 18K gold and Zirconium-based Liquid metal. Other unique wearables include the Huawei FreeClip and its C-bridge design.
Huawei has set up Aesthetic Research Centers in Paris, Milan, and London to gain insight into the design and aesthetic trends of different cultures while incorporating design elements from both East and West. These centers serve as global platforms to continuously advance technology and design.
Huawei Watch GT4
Huawei has also made a focus on health with their smart devices. Last year, they launched a lineup of flagship smart wearables including the Huawei Watch Ultimate that supports 2-way BeiDou satellite messaging, the Huawei Watch 4 and its Health Glance, the Huawei Watch GT 4 with Activity Rings and Stay Fit app, and the aforementioned Huawei Watch Ultimate Design. Global shipments of the Watch GT 4 totaled over 2.5 million units three months after its launch.
They have developed its own TruSeen vital sign monitoring technology, which have been upgraded 5 generations within 8 years. To date, Huawei has filed more than 800 smart wearable patent applications. They have also unveiled the Huawei Finland Health Lab and has built over 10 global R&D centers.
In 2024, the brand will prioritize 3 challenges: sleep, blood pressure, and mental heath management. Through their efforts, they are promising more accurate, convenient, and comprehensive health management to its customers.
The Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2-inch also made its appearance at MWC 2024 with a focus on digital creation. It supports the 3rd Generation Huawei M-Pencil that allows it to have 10,000+ pressure sensing levels for a more precise digital creation experience.
This year, the company is investing in digital creation by prioritizing PaperMatte Displays and NearLink technology for a more enhanced digital creation experience.
Its XMAGE brand for mobile imaging also made its presence known at the event. Huawei devices like the Mate 60 series, Mate X5, and P60 series come equipped with Huawei XMAGE with its awards receiving more than 600,000 submissions from nearly 100 countries.
