The Huawei Pura series is getting a clamshell foldable entry in the form of the Huawei Pura X. Unlike other clamshell devices in the category, the Pura X is designed to open horizontally and rotated if you want to use it as a regular smartphone.
The Huawei Pura X sports a 6.3-inch 2120 x 1320 120Hz Foldable OLED main screen and a 3.5-inch 980 x 980 120Hz OLED cover display. Oddly enough, its cameras are placed at the top of the outer screen making it easier to take selfies.
Speaking of cameras, the Pura X comes with a 50MP f/1.6 main camera with an RYYB sensor and OIS, a 40MP f/2.2 ultrawide shooter with an RYYB sensor, and an 8MP telephoto with OIS and 3.5x optical zoom. Additionally, there is a 10MP selfie shooter on its main display. Color accuracy of photos is improved with its spectral image sensor.
Huawei has yet to officially unveil the chipset used by the Pura X, but it does come with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB of internal storage. They say that there is a graphite plate for its chip to improve heat dissipation.
They are able to place a two-cell 4,720mAh battery that supports Huawei 66W SuperCharge and 40W wireless charging. It will run on HarmonyOS 5.0 instead of HarmonyOS Next like the Huawei Mate X6.
The Huawei Pura X comes Black, White, and Silver colorways plus Pattern Green and Pattern Red for its collector editions. Prices start at CNY 7,499 for its base 12GB/512GB variant and can reach up to CNY 9,999 for its top-end 16GB/1TB option.
When directly converted, the Pura X will start at around PhP 64,000.
The Huawei Pura X is currently exclusive to China. Huawei has yet to announce any plans of bringing the device to a global audience.
