Huawei Pura70 Ultra unveiled with Kirin 9010 chip and retractable 50MP main camera

Huawei is saying goodbye to the P series and replacing it with the Pura lineup, the flagship of which is the Huawei Pura70 Ultra. It is the culmination of the company’s previous efforts with its variable aperture main camera with a retractable mechanism and a new Kirin chipset.

The Huawei Pura70 Ultra’s main 50MP camera has a variable aperture of f/1.6 to f/4.0. They managed to fit a 1-inch sensor on the smartphone thanks to a retractable platform for the main camera. This allows it to capture more light and details, which is especially helpful for fast moving subjects.

Its main camera is complemented by a 50MP f/2.1 telephoto with OIS with a 90mm equivalent plus 3.5x optical zoom, and a 40MP f/2.2 ultrawide shooter. Nestled in its 6.8-inch 2844 x 1260 120Hz LTPO OLED display is a 13MP f/2.4 front-facing camera.

The flagship sports the new Kirin 9010 chipset, which is suggested to come from a 7nm process, paired with 16GB RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. It will be powered by a 5,200mAh battery that supports 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging.
