It seems that just yesterday Huawei launched two new budget-oriented smartphones. Today, the brand has launched another smartphone in the Y series: the Huawei Y8s.
The Huawei Y8s sports 6.5-inch 2340 x 1080 display with a rather large notch reminiscent of their looks when the first batch of notched smartphones were launched. Though the notch takes up a relatively large footprint compared to the standards of today, it does come with an 8MP f/2.0 main selfie camera and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor for blurred backgrounds.
The back is also reminiscent of an older design. At the top right are two cameras led by a 48MP f/1.8 main camera backed by a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. There’s also a fingerprint scanner for an additional layer of security.
Hardware providing the processing power is relatively dated as well. The device has a Kirin 710 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded via its MicroSD slot.
Though the Huawei Y8s runs on Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.1 it does have Google Mobile Services. Powering the whole device is a 4,000mAh battery charged via a standard 5V/2A MicroUSB connection.

Huawei has not announced the Y8s’ official price nor when it will arrive in the market. Given its specifications, we expect it to be positioned in an affordable price point.
