Experience the lush and dangerous environments of the Louisiana bayou and the mountains of Colorado as a bounty hunter in the late 19th century. Your mission: track down and eliminate monstrous targets while outwitting (and outgunning) rival players in a tense PvPvE showdown.

Developed by the award-winning studio behind the Crysis, Ryse, and The Climb franchises, Crytek is a veteran German developer with over 20 years of experience. The team leverages its world-class developers, 3D artists, and audio designers—along with its proprietary technology—to create truly unforgettable gaming experiences.

Tense Gameplay and Unique Challenges

Players can hire unique Legendary Hunters, collect weapons and equipment, level up, and progress with a system of Traits to gain an advantage in a fight. Rewards can be picked up across the map and gained with progression through Event Battle Passes. Hunt: Showdown 1896 offers a challenging environment and unique, satisfying rewards.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 offers a variety of intense gameplay modes:

  • Bounty Hunt: Fight solo or in teams of up to three, competing against 12 players per match. Track down monstrous Boss Targets by collecting clues across vast maps. Once you defeat the Boss Target, you must banish it, collect the bounty, and fight your way to extraction against every other Hunter on the map.
  • Soul Survivor: A battle royale-style mode where players scavenge for weapons and fight to be the last one standing.
  • Bounty Clash: Dive into fast-paced, quick-match combat in select compounds, testing your skills and tactics in intense close-quarters battles.

Set in the Victorian era of the late 19th century, Hunt: Showdown 1896 is renowned for its deeply immersive, horror-drenched atmosphere. Its unique, ultra-realistic sound design allows players to hear the smallest environmental details with pinpoint precision, making audio cues and beautiful, haunting soundscapes key to survival and stealth.

Web of the Empress Welcomes All

There’s no better time to enter the bayou than today. The new “Web of the Empress” in-game Event launches alongside Update 2.5, bringing a host of new content. New players can learn the ropes in the tutorial and challenge AI bots to prepare for competition against seasoned veterans.

Web of the Empress introduces the new Tarot Card mechanic, which offers powerful buffs and dangerous debuffs for players willing to pay the price. Found in special locations, these cards can turn any Bounty Hunt match on its head. The update also introduces a new enemy, Bileweavers: venomous spiders that swarm players in high-risk, high-reward locations. With new rewards, weapons, balancing changes, and countless improvements, the hunt is more thrilling than ever.
