Improved GCash now more secure and PayPal friendly

When it comes to online transactions, Paypal is one of the most secure platforms you can rely on. Even right now, Paypal is a preferred method to pay and receive payments for individuals, small business owners and companies.

That’s why GCash, the country’s premier micropayment service have partnered with Paypal to enable more individuals with a solid platform for both parties.

At the same time, GCash also went through their re-branded image and EMV card compliant with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). So transactions via this new GCash card are more secure and can avoid skimming as each transaction generates a unique code with the EMV.

So, we opted to try out this new service of free cash-in of your Paypal account to GCash. We simply paired our Paypal account to our GCash via the registration tool online. Just make sure that your GCash account has already been Know Your Customer (KYC) by an authorized GCash agent.

Once paired to your GCash account, you can already see your balance of your Paypal account instantly. We tried transferring our PayPal balance to our GCash account, based on our experience it was instant.

What’s good about this is that transferring your Paypal balance to GCash doesn’t have any fee as compared to other microfinancing companies.

You will even get an SMS confirmation about your transfer, so everything is real-time and secured. Same experience if we transfer funds from our BPI account to our GCash.

After that, we can now use our GCash Mastercard like a normal debit card for online and on-site transactions. We can even withdraw money from an ATM with a small fee. Still faster than the usual PayPal cash-in method in banks that would take 2-3 days.

So if you’re a person who transacts with Paypal and needs quick access to cash, getting a GCash account and Mastercard isn’t bad as it only cost Php150 for the card. It’s even a Beep card, perfect when communicating in trains or using the City link bus company.
