inDrive has received its official accreditation from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to pave a way for them to offer ride-hailing services in the Philippines.
For its initial phase, inDrive will offer its services in five cities: Bacolod, Baguio, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro, and Butuan. They are currently focusing their efforts to bolster its supply with driver recruitment initiatives before officially launching and expanding its services.
inDrive is currently running a driver registration campaign in the aforementioned cities until December 31, 2023. Drivers who will successfully register will receive a fuel voucher worth USD 10. To participate, drivers must ensure they possess all the necessary accreditations. Drivers can use the app without paying service fees when accepting rides for the starting period.
The company is promising more choice and control over the experience. Passengers can select their preferred driver and vice versa. Once a ride is confirmed, passengers are presented with a list of available drivers, allowing them to choose based on preferences like driver rating, vehicle model, and estimated time of arrival.
Drivers are also empowered by inDrive. They will receive detailed ride requests including fare, pick-up point, and destination. They can select or ignore ride requests without penalties for an added sense of flexibility.
The inDrive app, available via the Play Store and App Store, aims to prioritize safety via various features:
Prior to the company’s entry into the Philippines, the ride-hailing company has established a firm presence in three other Southeast Asian countries namely Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Globally, inDrive is present in over 700 cities and 45 countries.
