The JBL Soundgear Frames aims to fuse fashion and audio within a single package as it marries a trendy-looking pair of shades with built-in speakers so you can listen to your favorite songs while you’re protecting your eyes.
The Soundgear Frames’ chassis is comes in a fairly clean aesthetic with a clear view of its internals. Its glasses are polarized so you can protect your eyes from the sun while on the beach.
Its audio is delivered through 2 ultra-thin 25 x 9mm high amplitude speakers powered by JBL OpenSound technology. The speakers are mounted inside the temples and acts as an open-back earphones. Other people will still hear your tunes if they are near or if you’re in a silent room.
Once connected to a smartphone, the JBL app can help customize the Frames’ performance with 6 preset EQ curves and a variety of customizable controls for its haptic touch sensors.
