Kia, in collaboration with its official distributor ACMobility, launched the new Kia EV9 all-electric SUV. As the successor of the EV6, the EV9 promises a new level of luxury, performance, and practicality.
The Kia EV9 is the company’s new flagship for their EV lineup. It spans 5,015mm in length, 1,980mm in width, and 1,780 in height. Its boxy look is complemented with what Kia calls a “digital tiger face.” The external design is accented by auto-flush door handles, digital side mirrors, and an aerodynamic profile.
Inside, the EV9 offers two 12.3-inch displays – one for its digital instrument cluster and another for its touchscreen infotainment system center. The car supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For audio, Kia outfits the EV with a 14-speaker Meridian Surround sound.
A digital center mirror lets you select between optical and digital modes with a flick of a switch. The EV9’s interior is lined with suede, a dual sunroof, and hidden haptic touch buttons.
Powering the car are dual electric motors delivering 384 PS and 700 Nm of torque. Kia says that it can reach from 0 to 100 in just 5 seconds. Its all-electric powertrain also enables the EV to have a towing capacity of up to 2,268kg.
A 99.8kWh battery supplies the energy to the car. Its 11kW AC charger can fill up the battery in just below 10 hours while its 50kW DC charger takes it up a notch by charging the car from 10% to 80% in 83 minutes. There’s also a 350kW DC charger that reaches 80% in just 24 minutes.
The Kia EV9 is priced at PhP 5,888,000 in the Philippines. You’ll be able to choose from Ocean Blue, Snow White Peal, and Aurora Black Pearl colorways. The GT-Line includes a 5-year or 160,000km vehicle warranty and an 8-year or 160,000km warranty for the electric motor and battery.
