Though the Legion 5 gaming notebook series are already beefy devices in their own right, Lenovo is adding two new notebooks to their premium lineup: the Legion 7i and Legion Y740Si with Intel’s 10th generation processors.
As one of their premium notebooks, the Lenovo Legion 7i comes with all the latest specifications. It can be decked out with an Intel Core i9-10980HK with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q with up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM running at 2933MHz, and up to 2TB of PCIe SSD.
Cooling all the high-end components inside the chassis is Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0 cooling system with an integrated vapor chamber. In addition, there are dual fans with 73 liquid-crystal polymer fan blades enhanced by four dedicated thermal channels to push air at the highest speed possible.
A 6-point thermal sensor array quickly predicts the cooling needed for the notebook’s most important components. This allows the notebook to push the CPU and GPU clocks to the highest level for the maximum performance, which Lenovo calls the Dual Burn feature.
The Lenovo Legion 7i’s display is a 15.6-inch IPS screen with an advertised brightness of 500nits. Lenovo says that the display supports 100% sRGB color accuracy. Depending on the model, the notebook can be outfitted with a 240Hz screen or if you prefer, a 144Hz, which comes with 100% Adobe sRGB, and optional NVIDIA G-SYNC.
In terms of longevity, the notebook sports an 80Whr battery with an advertised up to 8 hours of usage. Thanks to Rapid Charge Pro, the device can be charged from 0% to 50% in just 30 minutes.

The Lenovo Legion 7i is priced at PhP 119,995 and is expected to arrive in Philippine stores on June 2020.
While the Lenovo Legyion Y740Si does sport the Legion moniker, it’s a notebook geared more for video and photo editors with a passion for gaming. It can be configured to have an Intel Core i9-10980HK with 32GB of DDR4 RAM running at 3200MHz. As for storage, you can opt to have up to 1TB of PCIe NVMe storage.
As for its display, it has a 15.6-inch IPS screen with 3840 x 2160 resolution running at 60Hz. Though its refresh rate is a bit slow compared to other Legion notebooks, it makes up for it with DisplayHDR 400, Dolby Vision, and up to 600nits of brightness.
At just 1.7kg, it’s one of the lightest notebook in its class. This notebook, however, does not come with a dedicated GPU only relying on the CPU’s iGPU for graphics processing while on-the-go.
Since it doesn’t have a GPU, the Legion Y740Si is perfectly accompanied by the Lenovo Legion BoostStation. This allows you to upgrade the graphical capabilities of the notebook to a discrete desktop-class NVIDIA or AMD GPU.
